At Fora, we wanted to create spaces that invite connection and discovery, fostering a community where like-minded individuals can come together, share experiences, and feel truly at home.
The moment you step inside, you're captivated by lush greenery that surrounds you, with streams of natural light that immediately transport you to a sanctuary of peace and renewal. The building takes you on a journey of discovery through a series of thoughtfully designed spaces—from open community areas to cozy semi-private retreats and secluded, intimate corners.
To ensure the building feels open and respects tenants' privacy, we prioritized creating spacious, open areas rather than densely packed structures. By incorporating carefully designed voids as a primary design element, we aimed to break up the density and provide breathing room within the building. This approach not only enhances privacy but also creates a sense of openness, allowing tenants to enjoy a more comfortable and relaxed environment.
Our 34-unit apartment building consists of 3 small internal courtyards, two that carry the vertical circulation of the building, and one that is a garden space.This outdoor circulation system, connected by shared and semi-private spaces, enhances community within the building by creating informal, chance-driven interactions in a comfortable environment.
It was very important to us that every unit received an abundance of natural light so we strategically sized and placed windows to create bright and inviting living spaces. As architects, we deeply value the profound impact that nature has on well-being and have made it a priority to ensure a connection between our designs and the natural environment.
We believe that in order to create a space that is inclusive and welcoming for all, it is important to be culturally sensitive and considerate of the diverse physical needs and preferences of various groups. By leveraging the uniqueness of our team, we are able to create spaces that are not only functional and engaging but also culturally sensitive and inclusive.
As a team, we are committed to making a positive impact on the environment through our design practices and we seek to promote a more sustainable and resilient future. We hope that by setting an example through our work, we can inspire others to adopt sustainable practices in their own lives and make a deeper connection with nature in order to instinctively seek to protect and preserve it.
